Conditional output using eDIRECT
You can print directly through the Director Toolkit, or you can print through eDIRECT. An advantage of printing through eDIRECT is that you can set conditions to control the output type and content.
Use global variables with eDirect conditions. Using form variables has unpredictable results. A condition on a form is always processed no matter if eDirect conditions exist.
In the following example, the label is printed if the variable Status is less than 5, and an email message that includes a PDF attachment of the label is sent if the variable Status is equal to 8. If neither condition is true, no output is created.
